Yodit Beyene is a seasoned international development professional that has worked in the non-profit sector for seven years.

Her most recent role, before pursuing her MBA at the Ross School of Business, was with the Institute of International Education (IIE) where she developed a growth strategy and implementation plan to build partnerships with education stakeholders across sub-Saharan Africa.

She later held the role of Deputy Director for IIE’s Sub-Saharan Africa office, tasked with the responsibility of leading new business development initiatives.

Yodit returned to the United States to pursue an MBA at the Ross School of Business with the vision of acquiring a more business and entrepreneurship approach to challenges faced in the non-profit and social services sector.  

At Ross, Yodit served as a Lead for the Clean-Tech Team for the Zell Lurie Commercialization Fund (ZLCF), a student-run venture capital fund. She also led the winning team of the 2014 Nespresso MBA Sustainability Challenge.

Yodit started her career as a Mickey Leland Hunger Fellow and worked as Communications Specialist at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) where she designed and implemented communication strategies that support economists in making their research accessible to policy makers.

She has also worked as a management consultant with a specialization in human capital development and private sector development.  

Yodit has an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and is currently a Finance Associate at Delta Air Lines.

She also has an M.A. in International Development Studies from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Texas in Austin.

Yodit was formerly a TEDxAddis Curator who successfully coordinated three TEDxAddis events. She is also the co-Founder of the Addis Holiday Lunch for the Homeless feeding program, which currently serves meals and clothes for over 2000 homeless during holidays.
